Explosion

Thursday August 23,2018 left Cleburne, TX this morning. Headed for Houston I never arrived. Somewhere around 66 miles north on Huntsville, TX on I-45 I began to feel like I was going to throw up and pulled to the shoulder. Before I got stopped the pain that seared up my back overcame me and I passed out. Sometime later I found myself parked at a derelict gas station. Where I sat for an hour, hoping the pain would pass, finally I called “911”. The ambulance took me to Saint Joseph Health in Bryon, TX.

Friday August 24, 2018 at 11:30 this morning I found myself on my way to surgery to piece together my back. 2 titanium rods and I am not sure how many screws, or stitches, but the picture shows 36 staples, where used for reconstruction. That same afternoon I was introduced to a clam shell brace. It is used to support my back. I have come to appreciate this clam shell thing. When it was first put on the young man who put it on clamped it way to tight, and my abdomen area begin to hurt,

Sabbath August 25,2018 the Pastor of the SDA church in Bryon, TX came for a visit. It was a very good visit.

Wednesday August 29, 2018 expelled from hospital today, or at least that is how it felt. A friend arrived about 8:30. I was discharged after the PA had talked to me at 9:35. Then we waited about 30 minutes for my meds to be filled at the local Walgreens. We arrived back in Cleburne at Richard’s about noon. I was taken to the airport and put on plane for Kansas City, and on to “home” in Vassar, KS.

This is what my back looks like now:

It is about an 8-inch incision.
