Today my heart is heavy. In the last few months, I have watched my country come apart. I have watched our Constitution and our laws being trampled upon. I have watched the foundation of this country being thrown away. Many it appears are afraid of something that might be blowing in the wind. But for me these are the things we point at so we don’t have to look at ourselves. My country seems to have forgotten the foundational ideology that it appeared to have been founded upon. Many who made this Country GREAT died so their children and grandchildren did not have to live under the tyranny that we now see taking place around us. There are those among us today who walked shoulder to shoulder with those who did die to keep us from the tyranny of communism. There are still those among us who had family and friends die protecting us from the tyranny that ruled Germany. Now a similar tyranny is in our nation, and has been for some time. Now it is very much in the open.
How does this change? By putting our Creator first in our lives. By loving our Creator more than self and loving others more than self. Should we apply his statutes and laws to ourselves we would not fear what is blowing in the wind. We could also rest in His peace and not be afraid of what others might do or of what might happen to us. 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Exodus 15:26 "And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I [am] the LORD that healeth thee".
